03 · The agency's own website, as an experience of the agency

Because Website

A website for Because, a branding, design and marketing agency in Ahmedabad: bringing its body of work together while communicating its culture, personality and AI-powered way of working.

Built together with a team member. I gathered the work with the agency's brand handlers and took ownership of the scroll interaction on the project page.

The brief

Because wanted one place for its work that also spoke to potential clients and future employees: showing what makes the agency different and introducing its AI-powered approach without becoming information-heavy.

Design direction

Rather than a catalogue of projects, the site was shaped to feel like an experience of the agency itself, around four ideas:

  1. 01

    Work

Show the breadth and quality of Because's projects.

  2. 02

    Culture

Give a sense of the people and moments behind the agency.

  3. 03

    Personality

Move away from the predictable look of an agency portfolio.

  4. 04

    Discovery

Let visitors explore rather than just scroll.

Bringing years of work together

Projects lived across different teams and brand accounts. Instead of sorting through years of material alone, I worked with each brand handler to select their strongest, most representative work, collect the files, and organise everything into one consistent website structure.

I also designed a set of project thumbnails to present this varied work in a cohesive way.

Our collection process

  1. 01

    Brand handlers

Each team contributed its strongest and most relevant work.

  2. 02

    Project selection

Together we selected work for its relevance, impact and representation of the brand.

  3. 03

    Content collection

Files and project material were gathered through internal channels.

  4. 04

    Digital structure

Different formats and sources became one organised portfolio with a consistent presentation.

The interaction challenge

A scroll-based interaction for the project page had been hard to achieve in earlier attempts. I took ownership of reproducing it, working through an AI-assisted development workflow and refining it until it matched the intended direction.

This shifted how I use AI: not as a generator of finished websites, but as a way to execute and refine specific design decisions.

Key features

The interactive homepage collage in its light appearance.

Home page collage

The site opens with an interactive collage of founders, long-standing employees and moments from the agency’s journey. Movement and sound turn an introduction into a playful experience.

Visitor note form with message, optional name and colour selection.

Leave a note

Visitors can leave a short note inside the collage, adding their own trace to the agency’s world. An optional name and colour choice make this small contribution personal.

Starry Night Mode

Inspired by the Van Gogh influence in Because’s identity, this alternate mode changes the atmosphere across the homepage and project pages while keeping the same interactive experience.

What I took away

  • Designing for experience

Thinking beyond static layouts to how movement, interaction and behaviour shape the experience.

  • Taking ownership

Making decisions across interface, interaction and execution, not just one stage.

  • Directing AI-assisted design

Using AI as an execution tool while keeping control of the design intent.
